Some details can make you happy
The Salvation Army has published nine volumes to tell and reflect the making of the Army. The first volume came out in 1947. Sadly, volumes 7 and 8 have a different layout and size from the first six volumes. When General Shaw Clifton wrote volume 9, he ressuscitated the original layout. On the shelf, the nine volumes, despite their highly valuable content, don’t look great because of their disparity. Some people would not be disturbed by this, but I found it a sad view.
I had to wait a few years to find time to fix this. At last, this year, I scanned and edited the cover of volume 9 to re-create covers for all the volumes in the original layout. It is not perfect work, but good enough to create an illusion. Although I did not print it on photopaper, the result looks nice. Each time I see my bookshelf, I have a little feeling of satisfaction. If printing and using these covers could have the same effect on you, don’t hesitate to download them.
Do not discard the old book covers. The value of a book is also linked to its original cover.
